Do Hamworthy boilers contain asbestos?
- Discontinued products
- Safety
They may contain asbestos dependent upon the age and model of the boiler.
Asbestos is a dangerous substance and has been banned from use in boiler manufacture since 1984. Prior to 1984, we did use asbestos in production, primarily in the joint gaskets. Our Discontinued Products section shows the years of manufacture of our older commercial boilers.
For more guidance on asbestos, we recommend referring to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
You can identify the age of the boiler by the serial number. For help identifying the age of your boiler, please call the technical team on 01202 662500 with the serial number.
If in any doubt always assume asbestos is present.
