Hamworthy staff ‘run for the money’ in Ringwood
- Charity
A group of current and former Hamworthy family members participated in a 5k race organised by Wessex Cancer Trust on 15th April in Ringwood to raise money for a good cause.
Wessex Cancer Trust supports those affected by cancer in the Wessex region, away from the hospital. Their cancer Support Centres not only provide specialist counsellors to help patients with the emotional impact of the diagnosis and treatment but also offer complementary therapies which aim to improve well-being, help with pain management and increase self-confidence. The charity’s support reaches over 8,000 people each year.
As Hamworthy’s chosen local charity, it has a special meaning to the Hamworthy family. A former colleague was supported by them when she was undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Nine runners consisting of current and former Hamworthy staff from despatch, marketing, technical, sales and finance departments encouraged friends, family and colleagues to sponsor them. The team raised more than £200 by participating in the race. Well done to everyone involved!
