Groupe Atlantic UK, parent company of Hamworthy Heating, has now raised more than £120,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, to help cancer sufferers heat their homes.
Since 2018, Macmillan Cancer Support has been the nominated charity across Groupe Atlantic UK’s brand portfolio, which includes Ideal Heating, Keston by Ideal Heating, Hamworthy Heating, Gledhill, ACV UK and Atlantic Heat.
Fundraising activities to date have included employees organising their own initiatives at home and at work, and getting behind Macmillan fundraising events like the Three Peaks Challenge, Mighty Hike and Dorset Bike Ride. The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is a highlight each year, which teams supported this September, albeit virtually.
Donations are also made from every boiler sold by Ideal Heating to a member of staff from any company in the group and a significant corporate donation is given from Groupe Atlantic UK each year.
Shaun Edwards, CEO of Groupe Atlantic UK, ROI & North Americas Divisions, said:
“Without the passion of individual employees and the group as a whole, this fantastic result would not have been achievable.
“It goes to show how much can be achieved by working together – even in the unprecedented circumstances we’ve all faced this year. As incomes across society have been affected by the coronavirus outbreak, charities have been hit particularly hard, which is why businesses like ours have a responsibility to show our support.
“Since we started fundraising for Macmillan, we’ve raised enough money to pay for 600 heating grants. Some cancer treatments can leave people feeling the cold more acutely – we’re proud to have played a part in helping cover the cost of keeping the heating on when it’s really needed.”
Groupe Atlantic will continue to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support for the rest of this year, and into 2021.
