Dave Ward celebrates 25 Years on the Hamworthy team
Dave Ward, Service Engineer turned Sales Manager, has been part of the Hamworthy team since 1998. With a career spanning over 25 years, Dave has been involved in a variety of exciting projects, including the commissioning of Wessex ModuMax floor standing boilers at 10 Downing Street in 2010.
Moving over to the sales team in 2018 to embark on a new challenge, Dave has seen a variety of industry changes, the most obvious being the move from old atmospheric gas boilers to condensing on all models.
On his time spent at Hamworthy, Dave comments, “The market is evolving as we move away from fossil fuels towards electric with our new heat pump range. This green revolution may give us hydrogen, but many questions will still need to be answered before this becomes a reality. However, there’s no doubt about it when it comes to Net Zero, there are certainly exciting times ahead for all of us”.
As part of the team, Dave reflects on his time, “The fact that I’ve been at Hamworthy for 25 years speaks for itself but it’s great to be recognised for my service. To do a job I enjoy with the support of such a fantastic team has made it a great journey so far”.
Following 34 years as a committed Scout Leader, Dave will also be celebrating another exciting milestone this month when he receives the Silver Acorn award for distinguished service. Putting his strong leadership skills into action, Dave recently led a summer camp of 75 scouts to the Cairngorms in Scotland for Suffolk Scouts where he is a member of the mountaineering team. Armed with a selection of hill walking and rock-climbing qualifications under his belt, this summer will see him lead a trip to Ambleside in the Lake District.
Married with three lovely children of 19, 17, and 14 years old, Dave enjoys nothing more than spending time with his family and has recently returned from a family holiday to Canada which saw him skiing, whale watching, and enjoying his first-ever hockey game in Vancouver.
