Wessex ModuMax boilers are providing the perfect back up for a biomass boiler at Madani High School in Leicester. This multi-award winning project caters for around 600 pupils and has been open since September 2007.
The two Wessex ModuMax boilers were designed and installed by Robert Prettie and Co Limited, to the performance specification set out by Pick Everard’s building services engineer, Philip Johnson, to integrate with the biomass boiler selected for the project.
He commented,
“We can always depend on Wessex ModuMax boilers because they integrate really well with the chosen biomass boilers. They also fit into a small space and deliver great efficiency.”
“Space was tight in the plant room but Wessex ModuMax boilers can cope with the base load for the school with ease: The choice was easy.”
The boilers supply all the heating and hot water via a Hamworthy Powerstock Calorifier, and the entire system is controlled by a BMS system to ensure each room is kept at a constant temperature and monitored on site by the facilities team. The school has achieved a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating.
Wessex ModuMax boilers are compact floor standing boilers which offer a choice of high efficiency condensing models.
